myRSync (Beta)

Description

myRSync is a simple tool for creating rsync commands and running them on demand or on a schedule. Its purpose is a set-and-forget application for backing up your data.

First, add a configuration. You simply add the details of the remote rsync daemon, the local directory that will be backed up and the rsync options. After this configuration is saved, you can run it on demand.

If you need to run this configuration on a schedule, you can simply create a scheduler following the same logic of an alarm clock. Set the time and the repetition days, and the scheduler will run the associated configuration on the selected time and days of the week.

If you use schedulers, then from the Overview screen you can get quick information such as the last run of a command, the next run, the last result etc.

Monitor the rsync log easily from inside the application. The last tab shows the rsync log file entries, so you can be sure that your precious data are transferred.

Set notifications when a rsync job starts so you can follow the work to be done.

You can create as many Configurations and Schedulers you like, so you can backup any folder you need to from your device.

Requirements

-There must be a running rsync daemon that is listening for connections in your network.

-Know how rsync works.

Technical

-myRSync uses precompiled rsync binaries, supporting architectures for x86_64, armeabi-v7a & arm64-v8a ABIs. The rsync binaries were compiled from the original source using the default build options and with no modifications in the source code. The rsync version that is used in myRSync is v1.3.1

-Obviously, the application needs access permissions to your storage/media files in order to work as intended.

-This is a Beta, so if you encounter a bug please send an email describing the problem.

-The available rsync options that a user can use right now are limited to the most common ones. This is intentional since the app is in Beta. In future releases, more options will become available provided that there is interest from users.

-The application is free and contains no ads.
